About Me
👋 Hello, Beautiful Brains!
I’m Theresa M. Waddell—Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), and founder of TMW Counseling. I’m currently under the supervision of Mark Cagle, LPC-S, as I continue to grow and deepen my clinical practice.
I’m also a proud neurodivergent woman who turned personal challenges into a mission: to help others feel seen, heard, and empowered.
-
My path into mental health began over a decade ago at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where I earned:
A Bachelor’s in Psychology
A Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling
But my real education started long before that—in classrooms where I struggled to fit in, in jobs where my needs were misunderstood, and in moments of self-doubt simply because I thought differently.
-
I know what it’s like to:
Feel out of place
Mask your true self
Question your intelligence or worth
And I also know the strength it takes to rise above those doubts and advocate for yourself.
That’s why I created TMW Counseling—a name that reflects both my initials and my belief in helping others become the Mindset Warrior of their own lives.
To me, a Mindset Warrior is someone who meets challenges with:
💪 Courage
🔍 Clarity
💛 Compassion…by embracing neurodivergence as a strength.

Neurodiversity is not a flaw—it’s a different way of being.
Therapy should be affirming, accessible, and tailored to you.
You deserve a space where your brain is not just accepted—but celebrated.
You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to walk beside you as you reconnect with your strengths and write your own story—on your own terms.

💁♀️ I’m Neurodivergent, Too
I don’t just understand neurodivergence—I live it. I know what it’s like to mask, to burn out, and to feel like you’re “too much” or “not enough.” That lived experience shapes how I show up for you—with empathy, insight, and zero judgment.🧠 This Space Is Built for Your Brain
No more squeezing yourself into a neurotypical mold. My practice is designed with neurodivergent minds in mind—whether you need structure, flexibility, or a mix of both.🧾 Assessments + Therapy in One Place
Whether you're exploring a diagnosis or already know you're neurodivergent, I offer both formal and informal ADHD/autism assessments and ongoing therapy—so you don’t have to start over with someone new.🛠️ Real Tools, Not Just Talk
We’ll work on practical strategies for executive functioning, emotional regulation, and burnout recovery—tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life.💛 You’re Not Broken—You’re Brilliant
I believe in celebrating your strengths, not “fixing” you. Therapy with me is about reconnecting with your power, your voice, and your truth.
